EXCITING NEWS! Marshal Pruitt is the 2023/2024 State FFA WINNER for Extemporaneous Speaking. We are extremely proud of Marshal. This is Marshal’s first year in FFA and he won Section, District, and now State in extemporaneous speaking. Next up Nationals in October, CONGRATS Marshal!

Today., Tazewell County Clerk John Ackerman along with Mayor Mary Burress of Pekin, and Mayor John Kahl of East Peoria held a press conference honoring teachers Ms. Kahl and Mr. Phillips and their students for their work on Honoring the Veterans of Tazewell County. Marta Arranz Martin, a foreign exchange student from Spain, had the honor of leading the Pledge of Allegiance at last night's city council meeting. Mayor Burress then presented her with several Pekin momentos including a city flag signed by all council members. Thankful Marta chose to spend her year abroad in Pekin!
