The Noteables Show Choir 2024-2025 Auditions

What is Noteables?

The Noteables Show Choir is an auditioned extra-curricular music ensemble that performs music from all styles, including pop and rock, in a high-energy competition setting that is different from a formal concert setting. The Noteables compete throughout the Midwest and perform for many different audiences!

There are 3 different student roles that make up The Noteables Show Choir, and they are as follows:

Singer/Dancers are students who sing and dance on stage. If you love to sing and/or dance, or are even interested in trying it, and have never done both at the same time, give it a try! You will never know if you can succeed until you try!

The Instrumental Combo is made up of students who play instruments ranging from the rhythm section (drums, bass, guitar, keyboard) to brass to strings to woodwinds. The Combo plays the instrumental part of the show, and is featured during dance breaks and instrumental sections!

The Stage Crew is made up of students who work backstage building the set, helping with sound (microphones, etc.), and lighting. These students also help with costume changes and help the show to run smoothly in general. The Noteables competition show cannot work without The Noteables Stage Crew!

Audition Requirements

  • Here's how to plan for success:

    • Potential Singer/Dancers should prepare a familiar song that shows off their vocal range and best technical ability.  Please stay under 2 minutes (or approximately 32 measures).  While accompaniment is strongly recommended (piano or backtrack on CD or separate device), a cappella singing will be allowed.

      • Potential Singer/Dancers will also learn and complete a Dance Audition in person on Monday, May 6 and Tuesday, May 7 from 3-5 PM, as well as a Group Singing Audition on Tuesday, May 7. Meet in the choir room for these days to learn the audition dance and audition. You will learn the audition dance on Monday and have some practice time to get it down, and then audition in groups on Tuesday after working on it in groups with potential dance captains. Make sure to wear comfortable but school appropriate clothing.

        • Potential Singer/Dancers will submit a total of one video (singing).

        • If you are interested in being a Singer/Dancer, contact your PCHS counselor TODAY to make sure that you are signed up for a curricular choir!  All Singer/Dancers need to be enrolled in a PCHS curricular choir, so regardless of the outcome of your audition, make sure that you are enrolled in choir so that it fits in your schedule (contact Mrs. Grizzard with questions or potential conflicts).

  • Potential Combo Members should prepare 24 measures of their favorite piece that shows off their instrumental range and technical ability, with or without accompaniment (piano or backtrack on CD or separate device) and submit one video of their playing.

    • Combo members who would like to audition on more than one instrument should submit a separate video per instrument, following the above guidelines.

      • If you are interested in being part of the Combo, contact your PCHS counselor TODAY to make sure that you are enrolled in a curricular instrumental ensemble (band or orchestra)!  Combo members need to be enrolled in a PCHS curricular instrumental ensemble, so regardless of the outcome of your audition, make sure that you are enrolled in an ensemble so that it fits in your schedule (contact Mrs. Grizzard with questions or potential conflicts).

  • Potential Stage Crew Members should prepare spoken responses that discuss their interest and experience in backstage work, interest in being involved with the Noteables, why they want to be a part of the team, and anything else that may be relevant to The Noteables Stage Crew.  Potential stage crew members will submit one video of their spoken responses to the above topics.

  • You may audition for more than one role (Singer/Dancer, Combo, Stage Crew), just submit a video(s) for each role you are interested in (singing, dancing, AND playing an instrument for Singer/Dancer and Combo, for example; or speaking about your interest in Noteables and singing and dancing for Combo and Singer/Dancer).

Auditions are Officially open until Friday, May 10th at 3:00 PM!

  • Potential Combo, Stage Crew Members, and Singer/Dancers should read through all of the audition information above as well as complete the audition Google forms at the bottom of this page to submit their respective auditions
