THE NOTEABLES SHOW CHOIR LEADERSHIP POSITIONS

The Noteables Show Choir Motivator is responsible for keeping up the morale of their fellow Noteables members during rehearsals, competitions, and performances. They will lead occasional teamwork activities and keep everyone motivated to give their best to the group.

The Noteables Stage Crew Leader is responsible for communicating with all members of The Noteables Stage Crew as well as the rest of the Noteables members and the director on a regular basis. They will assist the director in creating and maintaining the show set including construction, lighting, sound design, logistics, costume changes, and anything else that will contribute to the success of the show. They will also ensure that all Stage Crew members assist with designing the set and know how to carry out their assigned duties (microphone changes, lighting cues, etc.) during performances of the show, and help the director to cover any absences that occur.

The Noteables Combo Leader is responsible for communicating with all members of The Noteables Combo as well as the rest of the Noteables members and the director on a regular basis. They will assist the director by helping to make sure that all combo members have their music at every rehearsal and performance and are able to learn and perform it successfully. They will also communicate any logistical and musical details pertaining to the instrumental combo to the rest of the combo members as necessary.

The Noteables Section Leader is responsible for leading singing sectionals with the other singer/dancers in their section (soprano/alto/tenor/bass). They will schedule sectionals outside of rehearsal and help keep his or her fellow singers accountable for learning and being able to successfully sing their music.

The Noteables Dance Captain is responsible for learning all choreography, teaching it to fellow singer/dancers who need to learn it, and cleaning each dance before competitions. They must be able to lead his or her fellow peers in a constructive manner, have a working knowledge of dance, and keep their fellow dancers accountable for learning and being able to successfully execute choreography.

NOTEABLES LEADERSHIP AUDITION PROCEDURES 2024-2025 SEASON (READ ALL INFORMATION)

Thank you for your interest in being a leader within The Noteables Show Choir for the 2024-2025 Season! Please read all of the following information carefully before submitting your application and teacher recommendation, and good luck!

Decide which leadership position(s) within The Noteables Show Choir for which you would like to be considered (descriptions above). You may apply for multiple leadership positions within the group; however, be prepared to rank them from the one you want the most to the one you want the least.

In order to be considered for a leadership position, applicants must have successfully completed at least one season as a member of The Noteables Show Choir.

Fill out the Noteables Leadership Application and submit it to Mrs. Grizzard no later than Wednesday, May 8 (link below).

Email one of your teachers (DIFFERENT teacher than the one filling out your Noteables Membership Recommendation form; this teacher may be a music (but not Mrs. Grizzard), art, or drama teacher) and respectfully and professionally ask them to fill out the Leadership Teacher Recommendation Form. You may ask a teacher who you currently have for a class, or whose class you have already taken. IN YOUR EMAIL: Make sure to include which leadership position(s) you are going for, as the form requires the teacher to answer that question. Be as specific as possible! Sign up for an interview time with Mrs. Grizzard during advisory by signing up at the Sign Up Genius link below (A, B, or C advisories the week of May 6-10). In your interview, be prepared to discuss questions about your leadership experience, goals and ambitions for the group, qualities that you possess that will benefit the position, etc.

Potential Dance Captains: you must learn the audition dance and be willing to "workshop" the audition dance with small groups of potential singer/dancers on Monday, May 6 and Tuesday, May 7.

The list of all Noteables leaders will be posted with the final list of Noteables members for the 2024-2025 season after 7:00 PM on Friday, May 10.

Overall, these leadership positions carry a high level of responsibility and respect. They should not be taken lightly, but looked upon as a position of true honor. The individuals selected for these leadership positions will be expected to set high standards of loyalty, compassion, and determination for their team. By following these procedures, you agree to uphold the high expectations expected of a leader of The Noteables Show Choir.

Selection will be based upon your interview, previous rehearsal and performance etiquette, and overall interaction with your peers.
