Important School Picture Information
9th, 10th, and 11th grade pictures
Picture order forms will be available for pick up at registration on August 8th. Pictures can also be ordered online at inter-state.com/order. Use order code 39992DA.
They will also be distributed to 9th grade students on August 15th and 10th-11th grade students on August 16th.
9th grade pictures: Thursday, August 15th, 2019 (Dragon Day)
If 9th graders are absent on Dragon Day, they can have their picture taken on Tuesday, August 20th.
If students do not have the picture order form prior to August 15th, they can bring the envelope with payment to their PE class on Tuesday, August 20th or order and pay online.
10th and 11th grade pictures: Tuesday, August 20th, 2019 during their PE class. If they don't have PE, pictures will be taken in their ROTC, Band, or Dance class. If they don't have any of those classes, they can do during advisory or before school. Pictures will be taken in Custer Stout.
Senior pictures
Thursday, August 29th
No money is needed on picture day. About two weeks after pictures are taken, a proof and order envelope for approval will be sent home. You will then be able to order a variety of picture packages. These pictures are taken in the theater.

We hope everyone is having a wonderful summer! As we gear up for the 19-20 school year, we wanted to send out some important information.
Online Registration:
Online registration for all PCHS students opens tomorrow, July 15th, and MUST be completed by August 8th.
Student schedule release will be on August 13th ONLY for students who have completed online registration, paid any outstanding fee balances from prior years, and turned in all required paperwork. Please check your Skyward account for outstanding fee balances from prior years.
New this year: As an incentive, students who have completed online registration, paid any outstanding fee balances from prior years, and turned in all required paperwork by August 6th, will have their schedules released early via Skyward on August 7th.
Reminder about required paperwork: All 9th grade students must have a dental exam, a physical, and residency/custody paperwork turned in. All 12th grade students must provide proof of an MCV vaccine.
********9th and 12th grade paperwork can be turned in at the Holman Center on July 22 from 8-noon.
For help with online registration and for any last-minute paperwork turn-in, there will be computers and assistance available at the high school on August 8 from 8-11 and 4-7 for anyone not yet registered.
All students MUST complete online registration, turn in all required paperwork, and pay any outstanding prior years fee balances in order to gain access to their schedules and be able to start school.
Chromebook pick-up (10-12 grade students only)
If 10th-12th grade students have completed online registration, paid all previous years' fees, and turned in all required paperwork, they can pick up their chromebooks from 2-5 on August 7th in rooms G206/207. All 9th grade students will receive their chromebooks on August 16th, the first full day of school.

2019-20 Pekin Dragons Athletic Registration Opens July 1, 2019
Athletic registration for the 2019-20 school year begins July 1, 2019. Parents: if you have not already done so, you must first sign-up and create a parent account. Go to www.pekinathletics.com. Once the parent account has been created, add the student(s), select the sport(s), and complete the online forms. You may add all the sports in which your student plans to participate. Sports physicals must be submitted either in person or by mail to Jamie Patton in the Athletic Office.
For Fall sports, athletes need to get their READYcard from the Athletic Office prior to the first day of Fall Sports: Monday, August 12, 2019. Fall sports include: football, boys & girls golf, girls tennis, boys soccer, boys & girls cross country, girls swim & dive, and volleyball. The Athletic Office will open beginning Tuesday, August 6, 2019, from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. IHSA by-laws state that student-athletes will not be admitted to practice - or be allowed to tryout - until they have a READYcard.

The S'Pekin Dragons have been competing at the National Speech & Debate Association Tournament this past week in Dallas, Texas. All four of the qualifying students have had a very successful and educational experience! Their results are:

- top 82 out of 360 competitors in Prose Reading
Madison Rudloff (rising senior)

Kaitlyn Heaton (rising junior)
- top 45 out of 258 competitors in Storytelling (quarter finalist!)
