Calling all amateur sleuths: We have a PCHS Summer Mystery! Nestled away in a storage area, we found this work of modern art. We have managed to piece together that it used to hang in the faculty lounge at East Campus, and it appears to be from a world-renowned American artist named Conrad Marca-Relli (1913-2000). However, that is all we know. We would love to know this piece of art's lineage: How did it get here? When did we acquire it? Did someone own it and donate it to the school? Did Marca-Relli have a connection to PCHS? Was it ever displayed anywhere other than East Campus?

The cross country team spent some time cleaning up the school campus & park today! A "trash run" is our annual tradition after the 4th of July festivities. Way to go, Dragons!

A great time was had by all of PCHS GAPP students and their exchange partners at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart today. They are going to visit Schwäbisch Hall, a quaint town that dates back to the Middle Ages tomorrow.
Miss Kahl was invited by her host teacher to a reception for German-American exchange programs. She got to meet Ambassador Robert Scott, the American consulate from Frankfurt, and the public diplomacy chief for the US consulate. She also got to meet the mayor of Stuttgart and several visiting American university professors. Continuing to maintain the bridges that have been built!
The PCHS GAPP exchange students had a great day. It started off with a question and answer in a bilingual class, where they met even more new friends. After that, most of students participated in a P.E. class and practiced throwing a javelin. Then, they went on a tour of Backnang. After the tour, they all enjoyed an ice cream. It has been really hot, so the last two day were early out heat schedule days. There is no air conditioning at the exchange school
Pekin tennis teams are doing some team bonding over the summer and stopping at Double D's after open courts! Fall registration is open! Make sure you get involved

Our GAPP exchange school is near Stuttgart. If you spend any time in Stuttgart, you must visit the Wilhelma, a huge zoo and botanical garden.
Pekin FFA members spent time weeding the Kiwanis Flower garden today. The members also planted flowers and spread mulch this spring. Next time you are driving down Court Street take a look, the flowers are in full bloom! 🌸🌼

With summer comes time to make improvements to our amazing campus! We are excited to introduce new scoreboards to stadium and gym, new LED lighting in some hallways, a smoother back parking lot, and renovated science rooms!!! Making something great even better!!! #dragonpride

The German GAPP exchange students and chaperones finally made it to Backnang, where the PCHS partner school is located. They were welcomed with a lot of smiles, handshakes, and a few hugs. It should be a great experience.

A great day was had by all German GAPP students and chaperones today in the German cities if Freiburg and Heidelberg. Tomorrow, they are off to meet their exchange partners in Backnang. They will be staying with their host families for the next two weeks.
