The Ag Club students closed out a busy week with Meats Judging competition at Rabers Thursday night, and Livestock Judging at Blackhawk College today. Meats Judging team placed 3rd overall at a very competitive competition, and Livestock Judging results are pending. Very proud of the students and their willingness to learn more about the industry!

Pekin's very own Cole Stoner has been approved as next Athletic Director at PCHS. A 2006 graduate of PCHS, Cole returned to coach and teach at PCHS for the past 11 years. "Cole epitomizes the best of Pekin and his diverse coaching experience and his positive influence with students and adults alike make him a perfect fit for our athletic department. We are excited to have him in this role moving forward!" says Dr. Owens.

Bruning’s Foods 1 sharpened their knife skills when making salsa. They went back in the lab to experience using the broiler and blender by making pizza snacks and smoothies.

Students with an interest in agriculture had a great opportunity today to tour Joliet Junior College. Hands on labs and practicums were an emphasis throughout the day including: Drone Demos, Soil Mapping, Bio-Diesel Creation, Greenhouse Usage, Animal Evaluation, and Parasite ID via Microscope
