This sales tax would be a new revenue sources for our schools. It will allow our district to maintain and improve facilities for our students and the public without raising property taxes. It will allow our district to provide property tax relief to our citizens. All people passing through and shopping in our communities will be helping to pay for the betterment of our schools. Even with the 1% increase (one penny per dollar) our sales tax rates will still be in line with other communities in Illinois.
