The S'Pekin Dragons competed this past weekend at the Downers Grove Speech Tournament (the largest and most difficult tournament we attend all year). Events had anywhere from 75 to 100 entries. Pekin did not place as a team, but we did have five entries place into the semi finals (top 20 in their event!) and one place in the final round (top 6 in their event!!!). The results were: - Madison Rudloff (junior) = 5th place in Original Comedy!!! - Julia McCammon (senior) Semi finalist in Dramatic Interp (placing 3rd in the semi, one rank away from making the final round!) Semi finalist in Prose Reading (placing 3rd in the semi, one rank away from making the final round!) - Elisabeth Sandoval (sophomore) Semi finalist in Radio Speaking (placing 3rd in the semi, one rank away from making the final round!) Semi finalist in Declamation The Speech Team will compete this evening at Washington Community High School for a chance to win conference. Congratulate those that did well and wish the rest good luck!
