We are very excited to announce this week's winners of the "Flying the P" award! This week we will be honoring a group of students who volunteer around the school every Friday with the hopes of helping maintain the cleanliness and integrity of the inside and outside of the school building. Rotating every week, the students volunteer by cleaning, organizing, and sanitizing the library, collecting recycling in the B/C and A200 Hallway, picking up trash and debris outside on campus (in the warmer months), running errands for teachers, and combating flu season by sanitizing tables and chairs, doorknobs, and cleaning windows. These students are thoughtful in their work and work hard for the good of PCHS. Please help me in congratulating these students! Here are the belated January Papa Murphy's Students of the Month - Mrs. Alyson Smith nominated Samantha Curtis. Sami is the editor-in-chief of the yearbook this year. She has been spending hours and hours on the yearbook so far. She helps guide the class and is always available for any questions. Her schedule is incredibly busy, but she still finds time to work yearbook into her schedule. As of today, she has spent 185 hours on the yearbook to make this year's yearbook the best yet! LTC Lawrence Hallstrom nominated Cooper Davis. Cooper is kind, caring, and professional in all that he chooses to participate in at PCHS and within the community. He has grown into a leader in four short years and demonstrated these traits as the PCHS JROTC Battalion Commander. Because of his leadership, the Dragon Battalion this year received Gold Star status by the US Army. Cadet Davis competes on our Drill team, volunteers his time in the community as a member of JROTC, and spends countless hours assisting fellow Cadets. He maintains greater than a 3.5 GPA and plans on attending Illinois State University and becoming an officer in the US Army through the ROTC program.
