We are excited to announce this week's winners of the "Flying the P" award. This week we are honoring the accomplishments of a few different groups of PCHS students.
We start by honoring the members of the JROTC Honor Guard. On September 18 and 24, the cadets performed the Prisoner of War (POW) and Missing in Action (MIA) table ceremony for the local community in Honor of National POW/MIA Recognition Day and the City of East Peoria's hosting of the Traveling Vietnam War Memorial. The Vietnam Wall Traveling Memorial stands as a reminder of the great sacrifices made during the Vietnam War. For those of you who have seen the ceremony, it offers remembrance, hope, healing and comfort for the many families of American’s whose loved one never came home from conflicts in foreign lands. The Pekin Community High School Army JROTC Honor Guard is committed even during this global pandemic, to the continued performance of this solemn ceremony in honor of all those men and women who have served their country.
