Wearing masks is mandatory for every student/staff member/parent/visitor to Pekin Community High School based on Governor Pritzker’s mask mandate issued on August 4, 2021. Wearing masks on buses and driver’s ed cars is also mandatory.
Masks should cover the student's nose and mouth.

General Information & Safety Reminders
All PCHS students need to...
Wear a mask while in the school building and when riding on the bus.
Maintain social distancing (3 feet) as much as possible.
Frequently wash their hands.
Bring a water bottle. (Refill stations will be available).
Stay home when they are ill.
Be prepared to be temperature screened upon entry.

Commonly asked picture day questions:
1. Does it cost money? No, it's free to take your picture. It costs money to order copies of your picture.
2. I forgot it's picture day, can I do retakes? Yes you can. However, we recommend to take your picture today just in case you forget about retakes on October 7.
3. When do I get my picture taken? You will get your picture taken during your PE, JROTC, Dance, Band, or Health classes. If you are not enrolled in any of those classes, come see us during your advisory period!
4. What happens if I forgot my order form? No big deal! Still get your picture taken and you can order online at hrimaging.com later. Or you can turn in your form in the BFO after August 20th.
5. My freshman missed the station at Dragon Day or did not come to Dragon Day, what do I do? Your freshman can take their photo on August 20th.
6. I have a different question, what do I do? Email Alyson Smith at asmith@pekinhigh.net.

We are working with the Pekin Bus Department to get bus routes set for the upcoming school year. We will have all routes/times posted on our website and social media prior to August 17th. Families can use the bus stop list to find the location that is closest to your address and that will be the bus your student rides the first few days of school. *Permanent bus passes will then be issued during the school day at a later date.
If the address is less than the 1.5 mile cutoff from the school, your student will not qualify for a bus pass. You may go to the BFO and purchase a pass for $30 (a semester) fee. If you have any questions you can email the BFO at awalker@pekinhigh.net

Today is the LAST paperwork turn in day from 8 AM - 11 AM.
Freshmen parents need to bring the following to the Principal's office- 1. Copy of certified birth certificate 2. Dental Exam 3. Physical 4. Updated immunization Records (including Tdap, 2 Varicella, and Meningococcal) 5. Custody paperwork (1 school form and any applicable documentation) 6. Residency paperwork (4 total forms): ∙ ONE copy of mortgage bill, title, taxes or lease agreement. This MUST have a parent/guardian’s name on it. If the parent does not own, rent, or lease, then the “Landlord in Lieu of Lease” or “Living with District Resident” form must be completed. ∙ You ALSO need to bring THREE copies of bills that you have received in the mail that have the parent/guardian’s name and current address. THE REST OF 9TH GRADE REGISTRATION IS ONLINE. 9TH GRADERS CANNOT BEGIN SCHOOL UNTIL ALL OF THE FORMS ABOVE HAVE BEEN RECEIVED.
