We are excited to announce this week's winners of the "Flying the P" award! This week we will be honoring five students who exemplified civic engagement by participating in our democratic process. These students spent the November 3rd Election Day serving as student election judges at various polling stations. They put in a very long day registering people to vote and helping them cast their ballots. Please help us congratulate and thank all of these students! As we all prepare to enjoy a day away from our work responsibilities, we wanted to recognize individuals from the PCHS family who are the reason we even have a Veteran's Day. This group of people does so much to serve the students and community here at PCHS. Today, we take a moment to thank them for the service they also provided the entire country. Please join us in showing appreciation for this month's Faculty and Staff Flying the P Honorees: The Pekin Community High School Veterans and Active Service Members!

We are excited to announce this week's winners of the "Flying the P" award are the PCHS music students who were selected for the All District Ensembles! The students had the challenging task of video recording their auditions in early October and submitting them for judging to be accepted into the ILMEA ensembles. This year PCHS had 13 students selected to these "virtual ensembles". In lieu of meeting in person, these students will take part in virtual master classes and workshops on two weekends in November. Top placements will be selected for the All-State ensembles in January. PCHS had 2 students that were the highest score among all of the jazz auditions, Sarah Arseneau and Savanna Miller. These students put in hours of work, and in these strange times, they showed that hard work pays off! Please help us in congratulating all of these students! PCHS students are collecting cans for the Student Council Canned Food Drive! With your help, we are hoping to continue this success. We are planning on providing necessities for 100 area families again this year. Canned goods and other non-perishable items (hygiene products, baby food, etc.) will be collected during 5th hour advisory periods.
