We are excited to announce this week's winner of the "Flying the P" is the PCHS Symphonic Band! This band is a key part of the school spirit and atmosphere at PCHS as they play for pep assemblies, state send-off send-off parades, and participate in a ton of activities, clubs, and sports at PCHS. In addition, this band is asked to do countless community parades and functions, and volunteer their time outside of school hours playing for nursing homes, churches, etc. These students are part of making PCHS great and setting an example of success for their peers. February is Career and Technical Education Month. Pekin High School has 70 courses to choose from in CTE. In this article from Business Insider, more than half do not require more than a H.S. diploma, almost all of which we offer some degree of orientation. The ones that require an Associates Degree or certificate program, we offer some of that credit right here in the high school classes, certified through ICC or the State. Both JV and Varsity Scholastic Bowl teams competed in the Peoria Area League tournament. Out of 20 teams JV came in 2nd and Varsity 7th. Jason Hill made the all tournament team for Varsity!
