This edition, we have two sets of winners, representing activities that date back to Ancient Greece. Our first set of winners compete in one of the oldest sports known to man – wrestling. When you wrestle, you compete against others in your same weight class. Our winners have proven themselves to be amongst the best in the state. Congratulations to our first set of our “Flying the P” winners this week; our state qualifying wrestlers:
Jaylah Dalton is the first female wrestler in PCHS history to wrestle at state.
Shamon Handegan who finished his season with a record of 40-3.
Tyler Haynes who took 4th place at State and finished with a record of 37-2.
Our other set of “Flying the P” winners like to talk. They put their oratory skills to work to make PCHS one of the “big mouths” in the world of speech. Let us congratulate our state qualifying members of our world-renowned S'Pekin Dragons as our second set of “Flying the P” winners this week:
Mark Czesak - Extemporaneous Speaking (18th place finish)
Caroline Manning - Prose Reading (16th place finish)
Anna Soupos - Oratorical Declamation (18th place finish)
Norah Springborn - Original Comedy (17th place finish) & Informative Speaking (10th place finish)
Sophia Vansaghi - Poetry Reading (18th place finish)
What a great set of “Flying the P” winners this week. You inspire others every day and are a great example of The Dragon Way! Please help us in congratulating them for being selected for this prestigious honor!
