If your student is in need of a school physical (required for 9th grade) and/or immunizations (required for 9th and 12th grade), there is still time to sign up to receive these services at our registration events happening at PCHS on Thursday July 31st from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and Friday August 1st from 8:00-11:00 a.m. in our Dragon Commons. These services will be provided by the Tazewell County Health Department. Sign-ups for services will close on Friday July 18th after 3:00 p.m. TCHD is also offering a Mobile Clinic on select dates throughout the summer and fall.

📍 We’re starting at Rhythm & Brews – 513 Court St. in downtown Pekin
🍻 Grab a drink, slap on a name tag, and get ready to stroll Court Street with stops at Whiskey Taco, Yesterday’s, and Maquet’s Rail House.
🌮🍕 Food trucks will be out, and
🎶 Revel In Red takes the stage that night as part of the Downtown Concert Series!
This is a public event, so all PCHS Class of ’78 grads are welcome—and so are other Pekin alums from any other class as well as other friends!

The PCHS GAPP exchange students had a good flight back home from Germany on Friday. A big Danke! to all of the PCHS students who participated in the program and to their families for supporting this fantastic program. A big Danke! also goes to the PCHS administration and school board, Miss Kahl, and Jay, our bus driver, for helping to make this exchange a success. Travel changes lives and broadens horizons. A lot of new and lasting friendships have fostered through this program since 1988.

The PCHS GAPP students and their exchange partners took a short hike the Platten Forest, near Backnang today. That was followed up by a cookout in the school garden.

Calling all amateur sleuths: We have a PCHS Summer Mystery! Nestled away in a storage area, we found this work of modern art. We have managed to piece together that it used to hang in the faculty lounge at East Campus, and it appears to be from a world-renowned American artist named Conrad Marca-Relli (1913-2000). However, that is all we know. We would love to know this piece of art's lineage: How did it get here? When did we acquire it? Did someone own it and donate it to the school? Did Marca-Relli have a connection to PCHS? Was it ever displayed anywhere other than East Campus?

The cross country team spent some time cleaning up the school campus & park today! A "trash run" is our annual tradition after the 4th of July festivities. Way to go, Dragons!
