2019-2020 School Year for Army JROTC.

We trust that you and your family had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It hardly seems possible, but it is already 2020

As many of you know, the Pekin Community High School Army JROTC Dragon Battalion on December 3rd, 2019 participated in a Joint Program Assessment as part of U.S. Army Cadet Command at Ft Knox, KY. U.S Army 3rd Brigade Inspection team inspected 172 Cadets from the Dragon Battalion in full Dress uniform and also their Drill and Color Guard teams. Briefings continued for the next 6 hours reviewing every aspect of the program to include: interviews of Cadets and their goals, briefings on Community Service projects, briefings on improvement projects within the Battalion, and instructor compliance with rules and regulations set forth by the U.S Army for JROTC Battalions. This Triennial Review is crucial for our continued accreditation with the US Army Cadet Command. The Dragon Battalion Cadets received and overall score of 98.5% and gained the Gold Star which recognizes the school and the JROTC program as an Honor Unit Distinction. Congratulations to all of our Cadets.

As we enter into 2020, our Drill and Rifle teams will both be competing in January.

Our Drill Team will make an overnight trip to Ft Leavenworth, KS on the 10th and 11th of January .

Our Rifle Team will compete in the NRA State Championship Match in Bloomington, IL on 10 January

Both teams will compete against Peoria Richwoods @ Richwoods HS on Saturday 25 Jan at 10AM.

Please make sure you look at our JROTC Website for any other information.
