Meeting Procedures

Executive Board
Members Present: Officers, Advisors
Chaired by: President

Executive Board meetings are held in a "roundtable" type discussion, using Parliamentary Procedure. Meetings are held every Monday and Wednesday during fourth hour. This is a perfect opportunity for the officers to talk about future goals of the council, what's going on in the committees, and prepare the agenda for the next general assembly meeting. A lot of details are ironed out, and policies are developed in Executive Board meetings.

General Assembly
Members Present: Officers, at least 1 Advisor, at least 21 Representatives
Chaired by: President

The General Assembly consists of everyone involved with Student Council, and meets as a whole on Tuesdays and Thursdays during fourth hour. Due to the amount of people in the meeting, the format is conducted using Parliamentary Procedure as specified by Robert's Rules of Order. In these meetings, the representatives have the opportunity to make motions and vote on issues, and control the overall direction of the council.

Most meetings will go as follows:
I. Call to Order
II. Pledge of Allegiance
III. Secretary's Report
IV. Treasurer's Report
V. District Officer's Report
VI. Committee Chair Reports
VII. Old Business
VIII. New Business
IX. Presidential Announcements
X. Advisor Reports
XI. Adjourn

Committees
Members Present: usually about 11 representatives, 2 officers, 1 advisor
Chaired by: Appointed Representative

Individual Committees meet in a very relaxed environment, directly after a general assembly meeting. This is where a majority of the details are taken care of when planning activities. While a single committee may be responsible for planning an activity, the entire council does have input and of course assists the committee with whatever needs they might require. Chairmen are appointed at the very beginning of the semester.
