MARCHING DRAGONS

The Pekin Community High School Marching Dragons is an extra-curricular activity available to any student enrolled in the school's concert band or symphonic band curriculum class. Student's who participate in the marching band program rehearse daily from 7:00am to 7:45am and spend long Tuesday nights rehearsing as well as Friday nights and Saturdays performing and competing. All this hard work yields a performance ensemble that is dedicated to excellence in music and performance.

The 2005 Marching Dragons will march 100 strong, and will compete at the Danville Viking Invitational, the Washington Panther Invitational, the Metamora Parade & Field Invitational, the University of Illinois Marching Band Festival, the Lincoln-Way Marching Band Competition, and the Western Illinois University Marching Band Classic.
The Marching Dragons also performed the Pekin Marigold Parade and the Pekin Winter Wonderland Parade, as well as
a number of other service performances for the school and community.

PEKIN COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL & THE MARCHING DRAGONS ALSO HOST A YEARLY MARCHING BAND CONTEST:  THE PEKIN DRAGON CLASSIC.
