The Pekin Community High School Board of Education met on Monday, August 11, 2008 in the Board Room located in The Holman Career and Technical Education Building of Pekin Community High School, City of Pekin, County of Tazewell.

Call to Order

President Howard called the special meeting of the Board of Education to order at 5:30 p.m.

Roll Call

Members present upon roll call were; Ed Harr, George Kampas, Paul O’Neal, Karen Hohimer, Joe Alesandrini and Larry Howard; Absent – Betty Scott.

Communications and Public Comments

None

Closed Session

Motion by Alesandrini, second by Hohimer to convene in closed session.

Motion passed by roll call vote: Ayes – Alesandrini, Hohimer, Harr, Kampas, O’Neal, and Howard. Nays – None. Absent – Scott.

Recommendation for Employment of a Vocal Music Teacher

Mr. Ruwe recommended the hiring of Connie Mulligan for the Vocal Music Teacher for the 2008-2009 school year.

Motion by Scott, second by Hohimer to Recommend Approval to Hire Connie Mulligan for the Vocal Music Teacher.

Motion passed by roll call vote; Ayes: Scott, Hohimer, Harr, Kampas, O’Neal, Alesandrini and Howard. Nays – None.
