Call to Order

President Larry Howard called the Special Meeting of the Board of Education to order at 5:00 p.m.

Roll Call

Members present were: Larry Howard, Joe Alesandrini, Karen Hohimer, George Kampas, Betty Scott, Paul O’Neal, and Ed Harr.

Communications and Public Comments - None

Closed Session

President Larry Howard noted that we would proceed to closed session regarding student discipline hearings with the members of the Board, the Recording Secretary, and anyone else deemed necessary to be present.

The Board adjourned to closed session at 5:06 p.m.

The minutes of the closed session are recorded and filed separately.

The Board re-convened in open session at 5:45 p.m.

Open Session

Student Discipline

Motion by Alesandrini, second by O’Neal to expel student 08-01-09 for the remainder of the 2008-2009 school year and 2009 summer school for reasons of gross misconduct.

Motion passed by roll call vote: Ayes – Alesandrini, O’Neal, Harr, Scott, Kampas, Hohimer, and Howard; nays – none.

The parents and student were present at this meeting to hear the Board’s decision.

President Howard declared the Special Meeting adjourned at 5:47 p.m.
