Call to Order

President Alesandrini called the special meeting of the Board of Education to order at 6:37 p.m.

Roll Call

Members present were: Joe Alesandrini, Gary Lowe, Karen Hohimer, Larry Howard, Paul O’Neal, and Ed Harr; absent – Betty Scott.

Closed Session

President Joe Alesandrini asked for a closed session regarding student discipline hearings and consent agenda with the members of the Board, the Recording Secretary, and anyone else deemed necessary to be present.

The Board adjourned to closed session at 6:39 p.m.

The minutes of the closed session are recorded and filed separately.

The Board re-convened in open session at 7:05 p.m.

Open Session

Student Discipline

Motion by Howard, second by O’Neal to expel student 07-11-08 for the remainder of the 2007-2008 school year and 1st Semester of the 2008-2009 school year for reasons of gross misconduct.

Motion passed by roll call vote: Ayes – Howard, O’Neal, Harr, Lowe, Hohimer and Alesandrini; nays – none; Absent - Scott.

The parent and student were not in attendance at this meeting to hear the Board’s decision.

Motion by Howard, second by Harr to expel student 07-12-08 for the remainder of the 2007-2008 school year and all of the 2008-2009 school year for reasons of gross misconduct.

Motion passed by roll call vote: Ayes – Howard, Harr, Lowe, Hohimer, O’Neal and Alesandrini; nays – none; Absent – Scott.

The parent and student were not in attendance at this meeting to hear the Board’s decision.

1. Employment – Certified: Ms. Aoi Mitzelfelt – Special Education Teacher for
the 2008-2009 school year at a salary of BA-2

Crystal Johnson – Special Education Teacher for
the 2008-2009 school year at a salary of BA-3

Rebecca Fulkerson – Physical Education/Health
Teacher for the 2008-2009 school year at a salary of BA-6

Jennnifer Jaquet – Spanish Teacher for the 2008-2009
School year at a salary of BA-2

Motion by O’Neal, second by Harr to approve the Consent Agenda Item 1.

Motion passed by roll call vote: Ayes – O’Neal, Harr, Lowe, Hohimer, Howard and Alesandrini; nays – none; Absent - Scott.

President Alesandrini declared the Special Meeting adjourned at 7:07 p.m.
