Calendar for College Bound Seniors

June, July, August

  • Visit college campuses if you have not already made a decision.
  • Begin reviewing and working on college application essays

August/September

  • Narrow to 3 – 5 schools
  • Apply for colleges online
  • Complete a transcript request form in the Counseling office or online
  • Attend Senior College and Financial Aid Night at PCHS
  • Meet with college reps at PCHS if still uncertain of college choices
  • Submit a completed senior information sheet to your counselor for letters of recommendation and to help fill out college applications

October

  • Apply for FAFSA – available October 1st
  • Attend ICC Regional College Fair, if still uncertain of a college
  • Continue application process with counselor
  • Research scholarship opportunities (in counselors office or online)

November

  • Visit college open houses
  • College applications should be complete and submitted to schools
  • Continue to research scholarship opportunities

December

  • Final exams

January

  • Back to the books – remember grades still count
  • Attend Career Fair
  • Continue to research scholarship opportunities

February

  • Many local and area scholarships are announced this month.
  • Continue to research scholarship opportunities

March

  • ICC placement test at PCHS
  • You will be receiving letters of application/rejection throughout the spring – be sure to check online for the status of your application
  • Return to your college or choice any declaration-of-intent forms, housing contracts, and deposits, etc.
  • Continue researching scholarship opportunities

April

  • Make final decision on school of choice
  • Notify other schools that you will not be attending

May

  • Inform your counselor if you have received any scholarships
  • Complete final transcript form
  • Complete request for health records form in Nurse’s Office
  • Final exams
  • Graduation
