ISAC (Illinois Student Assistance Commission) reports that in any academic year, the funding for the Monetary Award Program (MAP grant) is “likely to be depleted before all eligible applicants can be awarded.”  In other words, grant money that is available from the State, will run out and it is awarded on a “first-come, first-serve” basis.  The application became available on October 1, and all seniors who plan to attend any type of school next year are strongly encouraged to submit their applications NOW.  The application is also the pathway for student loans, and it will be required for many types of scholarships.
