•A HUGE DRAGON ROAR and congratulations to our PCHS Music Department for their successes this weekend at Quincy High School’s “Showcase of Excellence.” The Pekin Noteables Show Choir and PCHS JAZZ Band & JAZZ Ensemble performed and returned home with many awards this weekend. The Jazz Ensemble received Best in the state of Illinois, Best in the large schools class, Best in the top division, gold rating for all three groups, Best rhythm section of the day, and Highest overall score of all the jazz groups! Sophomore, Morgan Turner was awarded the outstanding soloist of the entire day and Junior, Blake Markum won the improvisation competition!The Noteables Show Choir received Best in Large Class; Best in the State of Illinois; 2nd place in the top division, gold rating, and 2nd Runner up in the Finals overall competition.  Kearstin Logothetis was also a Solo Finalist and received 4th Runner Up in the Solo Competition! Proudly, Pekin High also took home the award for “Best Overall Outstanding Music Program” – with show choir and Jazz band scores combined.  This Best Overall Outstanding Music Program award was given, not only for their performances, but also for their overall SUPPORT of one another. This is a pretty GREAT day to be a Dragon!!! Please congratulate these students for being OUTSTANDING ambassadors for Pekin High!!!


•Congratulations to this week’s Flag Rules winner, Tate McGinnis, who was recognized by his teacher for being Prepared, Engaged, and Respectful.

•Congratulations to Jesse Ulrich and Sydney Diekhoff for being selected to the 1st Team All-Conference and to Hannah Thompson for being selected to the 2nd Team All-Conference in Girls Basketball this past season!

•Congratulations to Matt Bleeker  who placed 4th in the 170 lb weight class  at the IWCOA Frosh/Soph state finals this past weekend in Springfield.Congratulations to Noah Justi who placed 3rd in the 145 lb weight class at the USA Wrestling Dominate in the Dells tournament over the weekend.
